Evacuation and Repatriation Insurance
As part of program, The Education Abroad Network will provide Evacuation and Repatriation Insurance through HTH Worldwide Insurance Services for all Australia and New Zealand participants. We will provide a policy which includes $100,000 of Medical Evacuation coverage (when medical evacuation is deemed medically necessary by the attending physician or evacuation to a more appropriate hospital for treatment or medical evacuation to return home). In addition, we will provide a policy which includes $25,000 for Repatriation of Remains (in the tragic event of a death, the body will be returned to the home of the participant). The coverage period is included from the time to student departs the US, to the time the program officially ends.
Australia Health Insurance Information
The basic medical and health insurance policy, or Overseas Student Health Coverage (OSHC), fulfills the mandatory insurance required by the government for international students in Australia. The country has excellent medical and health system available to international students.The Australian government required Overseas Student Health Coverage (OSHC) can be administered by WorldCare, Medibank Private, BUPA and AHM, as all are government insurance providers.

The cost for OSHC is included in the Study Australia program fee.

OSHC provides free or discounted access to the University Health Service and to public hospitals.

Enrollment in OSHC is finalized during your university orientation program at which time you will receive a membership card and detailed instructions on how to use your OSHC plan.

Dental Care and Optical Care are NOT covered by OSHC so schedule any necessary examinations before you depart as they are considerably more expensive in Australia.
There are some limitations to OSHC. If you have any existing health concerns, contact your current insurance provider before you leave for Australia. Higher-level coverage, such as access to private hospitals and dental services, is also not included in OSHC. Medical insurance for higher level medical needs is your own responsibility.

New Zealand Health Insurance Information
New Zealand aslo has excellent medical and health systems available for international students. The basic medical and health insurance policy, or Overseas Student Health Coverage (OSHC), fulfills the mandatory insurance required by the government for international students in New Zealand. The New Zealand government through the Ministry of Education Code of Practice for Pastoral Care of International Students requires that international students have medical and travel insurance. Our partner universities in New Zealand utilize.
Student Safe Insurance, which provides both medical and travel insurance. This comprehensive insurance is included in your program fee and includes the following:

There are some limitations to Student Safe Insurance. If you have any existing health concerns, contact your current insurance provider before you leave for New Zealand. Medical insurance for higher levels of need is your own responsibility.

The Education Abroad Network provides health insurance as part of the program fee. We will enroll you in advance of your departure so that you have health coverage before you leave your home town.
