Established as an agricultural college in 1879, Massey was awarded university status in 1964.

Massey’s Manawatu campus in Palmerston North is New Zealand’s largest institution for the life sciences, agricultural, horticultural and veterinary teaching and research.

The campus is set amongst beautiful park-like grounds and includes 40 acres of farmland.

The University provides extensive student services including: academic skills support; 24-hour computer laboratories; on-campus wireless internet; university email account; on-campus security; health services; disabilities support; counseling service; sports and recreation facilities including eight rugby fields and an equestrian center; more than 80 student clubs and societies; library, chaplaincy, cafés and restaurants.
