Internship Placements

The China Internship Program gives students and recent college graduates an opportunity to work with some of Asia’s leading organizations and ensures they will receive training compatible with their employment and/or educational history. These internships are an invaluable learning experience for students of all academic disciplines and are project-based, meaning students will work on a specific project for the duration of the internship. Internships are based in Beijing or Shanghai and are generally unpaid.

1. Summer Internship Program - This program consists of a six-week full-time internship placement. Students can combine the placement with a two-to-four week intensive "Business Mandarin" course prior to the internship.   

2. Semester Internship Program - Students may chose a full-time placement ranging from two to six months.Students can combine the placement with a two-to-four week intensive "Business Mandarin" course prior to the internship.

3. Study Abroad Semester incorporating Internship -Students undertaking a Study Asia semester program at any one of our China partner universities may choose to combine their study with a one- to two-day per week part-time internship over the course of the semester.

All three programs combine a quality placement inside a company or organization with local support staff, guaranteed accommodation, in-country orientation, Chinese cell phone, extensive pre-departure information, visa services and many other services designed to ensure a high quality experience.

Recent Placements

Internships are available in most academic disciplines. Interns are expected to perform real job roles with real responsibilities within the organization. Applicants are matched to a company or organization based on information provided in the application. Most organizations will still interview upon arrival in China to ensure compatibility between the intern and the job role. Students have been successfully placed in the following industries:
