Perth Program Orientation

Hit the ground running with our Sydney-based Orientation program. Held over five days, Orientation combines academic sessions with cultural experiences, and each activity is designed to help students ease into their semester in Australia. In past program surveys, participants have continuously commented that the orientation program was vital in helping them feel relaxed, prepared, and excited for their upcoming semester abroad (Orientation video). On the final day of Orientation, students are transported to the airport to fly to Melbourne, where they are met by Study Australia's Perth-based staff and oriented to their housing and local area. Our experienced local staff provide unique insight and fun facts as they provide an insiders' look into one of the most amazing cities in the world.

Afterwards, become acquainted with Australia's native animals. Hold a kangaroo, koala or wombat. Definitely a student favorite!

Abseiling/Rappelling Trip to the Blue Mountains

Enjoy a trip to the breathtaking Blue Mountains National Park, one of 16 World Heritage Listed Sites in Australia. Here you will marvel at the majestic landscape, scenic waterfalls, awe-inspiring sandstone cliffs, iconic views of the Three Sisters, and the ever-present blue haze that descends over the mountains.

While you're here, test your limits in one of the most popular adventure sports in Australia. Work with experienced guides to descend from cliffs as high as 100 feet, surrounded by the amazing sandstone formations and valley of the Blue Mountains.

Harbor Cruise

This three-hour evening cruise allows students to view the city and harbor from a truly unique perspective. Ending with an Australian contemporary dinner and free time to explore the nightlife of Sydney, this farewell activity is a student favorite.

Optional Activities

Students choose from several activities including: IMAX Theatre, Sydney Aquarium, Center Point Tower, Sydney Opera House or a surf lesson.
