University Facts

  • Founded in 1911, Tsinghua is ranked as the number one university in China by the Times Higher Education Supplement – QS World University Rankings.
  • Considered one of the most beautiful university campuses in China, the large garden-like campus features parks and lakes. Historic and modern new buildings stand side-by-side on the well-tended grounds.
  • Located in northwest Beijing, in the Haidian District, the university is serviced by the city’s extensive subway system. The train station is just a short walk from campus.
  • Student Services include: University ID; 13 dining halls; on-campus security; sports and recreation facilities, including swimming pools, table tennis, tennis courts, basketball courts, volleyball and rock climbing wall; over 100 student societies and sporting clubs; and an impressive library.

Academic Program

Students attending our Beijing Program at Tsinghua University will choose from the following menu of options to customize their academic program to meet their requirements and interests:

  • Chinese Culture and Society, a core course that provides a strong basis of knowledge for the current state of China (required course)
  • Part-time internship with multinational and Chinese organizations and companies (optional)
  • Language Course - Beginner, Intermediate or Advanced available
  • Courses in English are available in subject areas such as Accounting, Anthropology, Communications, Economics, Finance, History and International Relations and Management.

Students fluent in Mandarin are able to select from the full range of courses offered by Tsinghua University.

Internship

Students participating on the Beijing semester program have the option to undertake a part-time internship in conjunction with their academic studies. Students will be placed in an internship matching their academic or personal interest needs as closely as possible. No matter the assigned internship, students consider the opportunity to immerse oneself into daily Chinese working life a highlight of the program.
