Study Abroad in Wellington, New Zealand

Study abroad in Wellington, perched on the southern coast of New Zealand’s North Island, the city effortlessly bridges the two islands while also blending the city’s artsy side with its role as capital. The epitome of relaxed, “Welly” is home to hip bars, funky galleries, and a plethora of bohemian cafés ideal for the study abroad student. Student Review

"Wellington is not only the political capital, but the creative capital of New Zealand. It is the perfect city on the coast and its size is big enough to always see something new, but small enough to know it like the back of your hand in two months. “Welly” also boasts the best nightlife in NZ. No other city comes close, but Queenstown comes second. And the location also makes weekend trips easy. The ferry to go to the South Island is a 10-minute walk from my accommodation and there are plenty of buses going up north for trips. Being here and hearing how other study abroad programs function and what they provide, The Education Abroad Network (TEAN) is the best one. People have told me that we are lucky to have a good study abroad program because everything is taken care of. The help us out with everything, from providing awesome pre-semester and semester break excursions, to the little things like paying for my electricity bills which is a HUGE convenience! Also, the Orientation program was so much fun, being in a different city, getting a good introduction to New Zealand, and meeting some awesome people."
