Every single person that I spoke to prior to coming to Australia said that Byron Bay was hands down the best hot spot that they had visited. Whether it was how crystal clear the water was, the hills resting in the background or the laid back atmosphere, everyone had something in particular they loved about Byron Bay. For me it was the diving at Julian Rocks.

While my trip to Byron Bay almost fully revolved around the diving at Julian Rocks, I did get to experience a little bit of the town itself, which was just as people had described to me, laid back and easy going. In addition to the chill atmosphere of the town the drive just outside of Byron Bay is worth mentioning. The surrounding area was unexpectedly breathtaking.

Julian Rocks Marine Reserve is right off the coast of the beach. This was my first dive as I had just been certified the day before. I really did not know what to expect going into this trip. So instead of explaining what it was like, I think it would be better if I showed you. Enjoy!
