Get Involved

There are more than 180 clubs and societies to join as well as plenty of volunteering opportunities. Many courses also have a work-integrated learning or internship component built in.

Your weekends and holidays can be spent enjoying the outdoors at barbecues with friends, swimming in the clear blue waters of the Indian Ocean, or even stand-up paddle boarding on the Swan River.

  • Tuition fees:  AUD$34,200 – $42,000 typically for standard courses (AUD -based on 2022 fees)

Scholarships and Financial Aid

Global Excellence Scholarship

The University of Western Australia offers a significant scholarship to high-achieving undergraduate and postgraduate students, from selected countries, who apply for particular courses at the University. Undergraduate students can receive scholarships of up to AUD$48,000 over 4 years on eligible courses or AUD$36,000 over 3 years; postgraduate students can receive up to AUD$24,000 over two years on eligible courses.

Financial Aid

You can apply for US financial aid while studying at UWA through the United States Department of Education’s Direct Loan Program.

Hanyang Summer School

Study in Seoul at the largest international summer school program in South Korea at the respected Hanyang University. As one of the country’s leading research institutions offering a wide range of courses in English, particularly in STEM, Hanyang University welcomes around 2,000 students from around the world every summer. Choose two or three classes in the fields of your choice while also being introduced to the contemporary South Korean culture through included excursions and activities. Throughout it all, you’ll also receive beginning-to-end support from resident TEAN staff, accommodation and more to make the most of your summer in Seoul!

Semester in Thailand

Experience the thrill of studying and living in Bangkok, Thailand’s sprawling capital city and a global hub of culture, commerce and cuisine. Though Bangkok is a major metropolis, this semester program is the least expensive of all TEAN offerings and offers students a surprisingly affordable cost of living. Study at Mahidol University International College (MUIC), the English-speaking arm of the esteemed Mahidol University, taking a variety of classes in English along with your Thai peers. Often considered the gateway to Asia, Bangkok is a great jumping off point to explore further afield in neighboring countries such as Cambodia, Malaysia, Myanmar and more. Of course, the incredible Thai street food, unique culture and varied landscape may have you wanting to just stick around the Land of Smiles!

Vietnam Internship

Intern abroad in one of Southeast Asia’s most dynamic countries: Vietnam. The highly unique and resilient nation buzzes with energy from the southern metropolis and economic hub of Ho Chi Minh City to the northern capital city and cultural center of Hanoi. Along with a rich culture, varied landscapes, long history and incredible cuisine, Vietnam also boasts one of Southeast Asia’s fastest-growing economies, making it a particularly fascinating place to intern abroad. Take part in a full-time internship to gain professional experience in various medical and healthcare fields, education, agriculture, engineering or the hospitality industry. Placements include guaranteed housing plus ongoing support from TEAN’s expert internship team as well as a fun orientation, cultural events, a Local Buddy to further help you connect with the community and more.

Issues in Environmental Health in Asia

Though the world’s life expectancy is longer than ever before, myriad health concerns related to stress, poor dietary habits and limited social interaction are on the rise. Asia has long fostered a number of holistic and natural wellbeing methods and it’s here that we turn our attention to see how ancient practices, such as tai chi, yoga, meditation and the Japanese tradition of forest bathing, can help combat modern health issues. Led by two expert faculty, TEAN’s unique Holistic Health and Wellness in Asia Summer Program introduces students to a variety of complementary modalities that promote optimal health and healing, both academically and experientially. The 3-week course travels from northern to southern Thailand exploring not only the country’s natural charm and culture, but the role of mindfulness and mindfulness-based therapies in holistic health, self development and sustainable living including an immersive 2-week retreat where students dive into the practices themselves.

Korea University

Study in Seoul at one of Korea’s leading private universities that’s known for its stunning urban campus and on par with the Ivy League schools in the U.S. Here students will have the opportunity to live in a vibrant capital city that blends high-tech modernity with ancient culture like no other. While studying a range of courses in English, students will also discover more about life in Korea by pairing up with a Korean student over the course of the semester for an even more immersive and local experience.
